Reciting the Qur'an, offering supererogatory Salahs, or making Du`a'?

Q 13: Which is better in the Sight of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He), reciting the Qur’an, performing Nawafil (supererogatory acts of worship), or making Du‘a’ (supplication)?

A: Reciting the Qur’an is a highly virtuous act of worship, and the same applies to performing Nawafil and making Du‘a’. In fact, Du‘a’ is the essence of worship. However, the superiority and and priority of these acts differ according to conditions, times, reasons and requirements. We advise you to increase your recitation of the Qur’an, performance of Nawafil and Du‘a’ as much as you can, along with showing loyalty to Allah and honesty and sincerity in actions. With this fulfilled, definitely expect goodness and a generous reward from Allah.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
